Taran Tarini

Taran-tarini is a one of its kind immersive experiences conceptualized and facilitated by Dhrupad artiste Shilpa Shanker Narain. The 2-day workshops include discussions, lecture-demonstrations and participative sessions based on the intricate and subtle knowledge of Dhrupad, India’s oldest form of music.

 

You don’t need to be a trained classical musician to attend. The workshops are aimed at guiding participants to internalize and imbibe the content of our traditional music and allow it to activate creative flow and self-discovery, moving towards a deeper and transformed approach towards life through music.

In addition we explore and experience a unique interaction with the environment through music.

Taran-tarini is an initiative that aims to revive the wisdom of Dhrupad as an aspect of ones own inner self and a potent tool for self discovery. This is a novel effort to spread Dhrupad in its pristine form, to new audiences, learners and spiritual seekers.
